Effective June 26, 2025, the Associate in Science Nursing program is a candidate for initial accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. This candidacy status expires on June 26, 2027.

Flexible Block Scheduling
Sunrise School of Nursing utilizes a block scheduling model designed to support student success and balance. Courses are delivered in focused time blocks, allowing students to concentrate on one learning experience at a time, whether in the classroom, simulation lab, or clinical setting. This structured approach promotes deeper learning, reduces scheduling conflicts, and provides a more manageable and predictable academic experience.
Distance Education, State Authorization, and Professional Licensure
Distance Education Disclosure
Sunrise School of Nursing offers nursing programs that include limited distance education components delivered through the institution’s Learning Management System (LMS). Distance education activities may include online coursework, assignments, examinations, instructor communication, remediation, and other instructional activities. All laboratory instruction, simulation experiences, skills validation, and clinical education are completed in person.
Students who reside outside Florida or who relocate during enrollment are responsible for understanding the educational and professional licensure requirements of the state in which they intend to practice. Although the institution makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate information regarding professional licensure, each state independently establishes its own nursing licensure requirements. Graduation from Sunrise School of Nursing does not guarantee eligibility for licensure, endorsement, or employment in every state.
Students should contact the applicable Board of Nursing before enrollment, prior to relocation, and before applying for licensure to verify current requirements. Changes in residency during enrollment may affect eligibility for licensure.
State Authorization
Sunrise School of Nursing is in Florida. Educational requirements governing nursing licensures are established individually by each state’s Board of Nursing and may differ from Florida requirements.
Because state laws and regulations change periodically, the institution cannot guarantee that completion of its programs will satisfy educational requirements for nursing licensure, endorsement, or advanced practice in every state or U.S. territory.
Students who reside outside Florida or who intend to seek licensure in another state are strongly encouraged to contact the appropriate Board of Nursing before enrolling and again before graduation.
Professional Licensure Disclosure
Successful completion of Sunrise School of Nursing’s nursing programs prepares graduates to seek initial licensure through the Florida Board of Nursing by examination, subject to all state requirements.
Graduates seeking licensure outside Florida, whether by initial licensure or endorsement, may be required to satisfy additional state-specific requirements that may include:
- Additional coursework
- Additional clinical hours
- Background investigations
- State jurisprudence examinations
- English language proficiency
- Residency or identification requirements
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
- Other requirements established by the applicable licensing authority in that state
These requirements are established solely by each state and may change without notice.
Students Residing Outside Florida
Students who live outside Florida while completing distance education components should understand that:
- They are responsible for determining whether the program satisfies educational requirements in their state of residence.
- Relocating to another state while enrolled may affect professional licensure eligibility.
Students planning to relocate should notify the Registrar immediately.
Professional licensure requirements vary state-by-state. Students should contact the applicable Board of Nursing to determine licensure eligibility before enrolling.

Sunrise School of Nursing conducts its educational operations exclusively within the State of Florida and does not maintain a physical presence or operational location in any other state. Please note that obtaining a nursing license endorsement in additional states may incur extra administrative and licensing fees set by each state’s Board of Nursing.

Upon successfully passing the NCLEX-RN examination and meeting all applicable licensure requirements established by the Florida Board of Nursing, graduates are eligible to obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Florida. Students Residing in Other States
If your state is not listed above, Sunrise School of Nursing encourages you to contact the Registrar before applying or enrolling. Because state laws, regulations, and Board of Nursing requirements related to professional licensure and distance education may change, the institution will review the most current information available regarding your state of residence and provide guidance on whether the Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program is designed to meet that state’s educational requirements for RN licensure by examination.
While Sunrise School of Nursing makes every reasonable effort to maintain accurate and up-to-date state authorization and licensure information, the final determination of licensure eligibility rests with the applicable state Board of Nursing. Students are ultimately responsible for understanding and meeting the licensure requirements of the state in which they intend to seek initial licensure or employment after graduation.
